Whizzer and Chips was a children's humour comic launched by IPC on 18 October 1969. It absorbed Knockout (1973), Krazy (1978) and Whoopee! (1985), and was merged into Buster on 27 October 1990.
Its gimmick was that it was "two comics in one" - the main comic being Whizzer, and Chips being a pull-out section in the middle. The two comics were supposed to be fierce rivals, and readers were encouraged to identify as a "Whizz-Kid" or a "Chip-ite". The lead strip of Whizzer was "Sid's Snake", and the lead strip of Chips was "Shiner". Other strips included:
