Sydney George L. Rossiter was born in Islington, London, on 14 June 1908, the son of George William Rossiter, an electrician, and his wife Marguerite Olive, née Watkins. He joined the Amalgamated Press in editorial before the Second World War, and married Sheila Gatfield in 1939. He served in the RAF during the war, after which he returned to work on Radio Fun. He was editor of Radio Fun in the late 1940s and early '50s, and scripted "Goofy the Ghost". He died in Enfield, Middlesex, in late 1996, aged 89.
