"Sexton Blake", Knock-Out, 1949

Reginald Heade was born Reginald Cyril Webb in Plaistow, Essex, in the fourth quarter of 1901. He was an illustrator best known for his lurid pulp paperback covers. In the 1940s and '50s he also worked in comics, drawing "The Saga of the Red", "The Captain from Castille", "Sexton Blake versus the Astounding John Plague" and "Robin Hood" in Knock-Out (1949), and "The Sky Explorers" in Comet (1952-53). He also published under the name Cy Webb. He died in West Ham on 14 October 1957.
