Mick Austin is an artist who began working in comics in 1981, drawing covers for Marvel UK. He had a brief stint on "Timesmasher", written by Paul Neary, and also drew "Blake's Seven", before his painted covers for Warrior brought him an Eagle Award in 1982. He also wrote and drew the strip "The Madman" for Warrior. Between 1989 and 1995 he drew for 2000 AD, drawing "Judge Dredd", "Anderson, Psi Division", and a spin-off from a computer game, "Urban Strike". He also drew the comic strip in Doctor Who Magazine and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and illustrated magazines and book covers. In 1996 he gave up commercial work and since then has concentrated on fine art.
