John Catchpole was the first artist to draw "Kelly's Eye" in Knock-Out in 1962. He also drew "The Shadow of the Snake" (1972-73) and its sequel "Master of Menace" (1973-74) for Lion, and "Adam Eterno" (1974) and "Black Bedlam" (1975) for Lion annuals, and inked Jack Pamby's pencils on "The Potters from Poole Street" (1976) for Valiant. He also illustrated books, including The Art of Good Shooting (1972) by Jem Ruffer.
