William H. Bonney, known by various names but best known as Billy the Kid, the notorious Wild West gunfighter, was a popular character in British comics. He appeared in The Sun in 1952-59, written by Mike Butterworth and drawn by artists like Geoff Campion, Don Lawrence, Harry Bishop and Alejandro Blasco. He also appeared in Cowboy Comics Library in 1961, drawn by Alberto Breccia and Renzo Calegari among others.
