Incredible Journey

"The Incredible Journey, Girl, 1961

Norman Raworth Satchel (sometimes erroneously written Satchell) was born in Pancras, London, on 10 November 1914, the son of Harold Ackland P. Satchel and his wife Margaret Evelyn, née Hill. He was a children's book illustrator who worked with Enid Blyton on her Animal Lover's Book (1952), and Andy Pandy's Counting and Rhyme Book (1960). He also worked in comics, drawing "Mac and Maggie" (1954) for Robin and an adaptation of Sheila Burnford's "The Incredible Journey" (1961-62) for Girl. He also contributed to Eagle annuals 1-3 (1951-53), Swift annuals 1 and 2 (1954-55), Girl annual 4, and Robin annuals 1-5 and 8-9 (1953-61). He died in Peterfield, Hampshire, in the first quarter of 1984.
