Cuddles & Dimples

"Cuddles and Dimples" is a strip about two mischievous toddlers from The Dandy.

It started out as two separate strips, with "Cuddles" first appearing in Nutty in 1981, drawn by Barrie Appleby, and "Dimples" first appearing in The Dandy in 1984. When Nutty merged into The Dandy in 1985, "Cuddles" transferred to Hoot, and it was only when Hoot merged into The Dandy in 1986 that the two strips combined.

Originally, the two main characters were not brothers. Less than a year after the two strips merged, however, Cuddles' parents disappeared (with no explanation given in the comic) and the two characters shared a house and a set of parents (Dimples')

Appleby drew the combined strip until 2004, when Nigel Parkinson took it over. It was The Dandy's cover strip for a little over a year in 1999/2000. The last original strip was in 2010, although Parkinson's earlier strips were reprinted during 2012.
